Monday Beach Combing

Today began with a morning on the pier fishing and reading (you can of course guess who was doing what). Unfortunately, the pier here is just not quite long enough. As a matter of fact, the pier almost isn't in the water when its low tide. Thus, I think the mighty fisherman has given up hope. While he didn't catch any fish today, we had the wonderful opportunity to see a number of dolphins swimming and feeding.

We then went on a long beach combing walk. We enjoyed sea urchins, starfish, sand dollars and conch shells among other things. We walked about two miles down the beach (out of sight of the pier actually). This wasn't a problem until we realized there was no bathroom in sight. You should have seen us speed walking back to the condo. Moral of the story - Never take a pregnant woman too far from her bathroom!

This evening, we met Travis and Melissa at their home after sitting in rush hour traffic for over an hour. Somehow, in the midst of our vacation bliss, we forgot about rush hour traffic. Despite the traffic hurdles, the four of us had a wonderful dinner at Oscar's where Billy enjoyed a local favorite - Shrimp and Grits. The company was great! Not sure what tomorrow holds, but we'll keep you posted!
