Billy's Birthday and Thanksgiving

Well, it has been too long. Obviously we've been busy! We celebrated Thanksgiving and Billy's birthday last week. What a great week it was. Good food, time with family and time with Camden. It doesn't get any better than that!

Camden is doing great. His personality continues to emerge and boy o' boy is it fun. He giggles, smiles a lot, throws his arms in excitement and in general is a really happy baby. He has a new found ability to sit by himself for extended periods of time and gets where he wants to go by rolling. He is loving his veggies - peas, green beans and sweet potatoes so far and insists on drinking water out of his sippy cup with dinner. In summary, Camden has finally come into his own. We don't have belly issues any more. He is content, rides in a car without crying (every now and then), and only gets upset if he is overly tired or hungry. The first 5ish months were so hard; we feel like we have turned a real corner and are so thankful Camden is more comfortable and content on a daily basis. He seems so much happier now and what a joy he is! We are enamored by the changes he undergoes each and every day.

This weekend, Grandma Martin watched Camden long enough for me to take Billy out on a birthday date. We saw Bolt in 3D (great movie by the way) and enjoyed a wonderful Mexican meal in LEX (at Abuelo's for those of you who are interested - fabulous meal). We had such a wonderful time together. What a very rare treat it is to get away just the two of us, but we did and we feel blessed to have had that opportunity. In the event you are wondering how old Billy is, you'll have to keep wondering unless of course you can count the candles on his birthday cake! :-)
Additionally, we celebrated Camden's first Thanksgiving last week (also with Grandma Martin). It was a very quiet Thanksgiving, but o' so special. What a blessing it is to celebrate such special times of the year with a child. While he can't understand Thanksgiving yet, he will one day know just how Thankful we are for him!
Last Wednesday, we had to take Camden to the doctor. He had an eye infection and two ear infections - YUCK! As usual, they weighed Camden upon his arrival. He weighed in at a whopping 20 lbs. We actually had to go this weekend and buy him a bunch of 12 month clothes. Our little six month old is as big as some one-year-olds which makes getting around with him in his car seat carrier quite a challenge. As a matter of fact, it makes most things quite a challenge. Oh well, we love our big little guy!

we are missing so much - it makes us happy to see the blog and catch up but at the same time it makes us a little sad that we're not there......

He is sooooooo cute. Can't wait until next weekend.

Kari, I just checked Nathan's baby book, and he was 19 lbs. 8 oz. at 6 month checkup. I'm telling you, these boys are *very* similar. I need to bring in some pictures to show you - fat cheeks and all!
